At today’s regularly scheduled Corpus Christi City Council meeting, the Council approved a $1 million investment for the development of Palo Verde Senior Apartments, an affordable housing community for seniors located at 5501 Huntwick Avenue.
The City Council approved a 30-year agreement to supply recycled water from the Greenwood Wastewater Treatment Plant to Valero Refining-Texas, L.P.
Construction upgrades at Washington Coles Park are currently underway. They will necessitate temporary road closures in the area to ensure the safety of all residents, commuters, and construction workers.

Southbound Everhart Road between South Padre Island Drive and McArdle Road will close for concrete work on Tuesday, January 13, between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m.
Ongoing work will require street closure on South Shoreline Boulevard at Cooper’s Alley beginning Monday, January 12. Kinney Street at South Shoreline Boulevard will also be closed. Cooper’s Alley will remain accessible via southbound travel on Shoreline Boulevard. Traffic on Kinney Street may detour through the Water’s Edge Park parking lot.
The Corpus Christi Public Works Department will begin replacing decorative crosswalks at the Six Points intersection and on Shoreline Drive to comply with updated state mandates. The work will start on Monday, January 12.
