The STAR Contractor Program
The STAR Contractor Program was created to assist the citizens of Corpus Christi in finding qualified registered contractors. The online STAR Contractor search tool will identify the type of work registered contractors are typically required to permit with our department (roofing, pools, additions, remodels, new homes, trades, etc.). This tool is not designed to recommend contractors, but rather, to provide the citizens of Corpus Christi with an additional means to find qualified contractors based on their service lines. This is a voluntary program, and contractors are not required to participate.

STAR Training Schedule 2026
The dates for training will not be the only available opportunities to meet registration requirements. The classes posted will be ICC Continuing Education approved credits. DSD holds many events that encourage participation and outreach. STAR registrants will receive emails when these events occur.

The Development Services Department is responsible for all planning, development and permitting activities in Corpus Christi. The department brings together building services, civil engineering, planning and zoning, permit applications, major projects and records in a way that customers can access information, start new projects, and get projects approved.
